Pretoria:According to South African Government News Agency, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning about severe thunderstorms expected to affect various parts of the country. The areas most at risk include North West, Gauteng, the Mpumalanga Highveld, south-western Limpopo, the northern Free State, and the far north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape. The adverse weather could lead to localized damage to settlements, infrastructure, roads, and bridges, as well as potential flooding in low-lying areas.

SAWS has specifically noted that showers and thundershowers are anticipated across Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Limpopo, with severe storms likely in the Mpumalanga Highveld, south-western Limpopo, and Gauteng. These conditions could result in large amounts of small hail, strong winds, and heavy downpours.
