Six Arrested in Limpopo During Operation Vala Umgodi for Immigration and Fraud Offenses


Limpopo: The ongoing Operation Vala Umgodi in Limpopo province has resulted in the arrest of six suspects on charges including contravention of immigration laws, fraud, and bribery.



According to South African Police Service, the operation led to the arrest of two individuals, aged 34 and 37, who were charged with contravention of immigration laws and fraud. The suspects were discovered with fraudulent asylum documents in their possession. In a related case, a 38-year-old male was arrested for attempting to bribe the police with R2000-00 for the release of his brother, leading to a bribery charge against him.



Additionally, in Vhembe District, three more suspects, aged between 31 and 39, were detained for contravention of immigration laws. All arrested individuals are expected to appear soon before the local Magistrate’s Court. Police investigations into the cases are ongoing.
