Pretoria: The Department of Social Development has officially published the updated social grant amounts in the government gazette, marking a change effective from this month.
According to South African Government News Agency, the revised amounts are set as follows: the Older Persons Grant is now R2310. For those over 75 years, an additional payment brings the total to R2330. The War Veterans’ Grant also amounts to R2330, inclusive of an additional payment. The Disability Grant and Care Dependency Grant have been set at R2310 each. The Foster Child Grant stands at R1250, while the Child Support Grant is R560, with an optional top-up increasing it to R840. Lastly, the Grant-in-Aid has been established at R560. These increases are effective from April 1st.
