Suspects in possession of drugs and ammunition are on their way to court

Integrated operations in the Western Cape, yielded success when suspects were arrested and detained on Saturday (2022-06-04) on various criminal charges.

Members of Operation Restore followed up on information, operationalised the detail, and approached a residence in Daizy Street in Heinz Park. Upon arrival they searched the entire area and confiscated a consignment of drugs and ammunition. A 62-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in drugs and possession of unlicensed ammunition.

In an unrelated incident the members of the Provincial Extortion Task Team conducted a joint operation with the Vredenburg cluster, in a bid to stabilize commitment between the community and the South African Police Service. In Freezia Street in Piketberg, they confiscated liquor with an estimated street value of R30 000. A 36-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in liquor without a valid license.

In a separate incident the same members tactically approached an address in Eike Street in Porterville where they confiscated a consignment of dagga, drugs and an undisclosed amount of cash. A 50-year-old female was arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in drugs

Once charge the suspects are expected appear in the Athlone, Piketberg and Porterville Magistrate courts on the mentioned charges.
