Swapo does not prioritise needs of average Namibians: Venaani

President of the Popular Democratic Movement ( PDM ) McHenry Venaani said the ruling Swapo Party has shown that they do not prioritise the needs of the average Namibian . Venaani made the statement during PDM ‘ s star rally held at Nkurenkuru on Saturday , claiming that Swapo spent nearly N . dollars 1 million to bring South African artists to perform at the party ‘ s manifesto unveiling , while countless villages in the country suffer from lack of basic necessities . The ‘ Jerusalema ‘ hitmaker Master KG alongside other South African artists Heavy – K and Blaq Diamond all performed at the ruling party ‘ s manifesto unveiling a week ago . ‘ Imagine what that investment could have accomplished if it had been directed toward building infrastructure or improving education facilities ,’ Venaani stated . He said the elderly in rural areas who walk over 10 kilometers every day to fetch water deserve better . ‘ We are presented with an opportunity to reclaim our narrative . Governance is not just a duty , it is an
honour to serve the people . Yet the current administration has treated governance like a mere cucashop . Prioritising political gain over the welfare of our citizens ,’ he said . The official opposition party leader said the reign of Swapo will not last forever and called on the people of Kavango West to rise and demand better . ‘ Demand a government that truly reflects the will of the people . PDM stands ready to lead this charge . We are committed to creating a brighter future for all Namibians , and we recognise that we face a catastrophic unemployment crisis particularly among the youth ,’ he noted . Venaani maintained that the PDM manifesto is not just a collection of empty promises like those posited by other political parties . He said the PDM manifesto is a comprehensive plan grounded in research and a genuine desire to uplift every Namibian . ‘ Our manifesto reflects our commitment to tackling the pressing issues that affect Namibians lives ,’ he said .
