Johannesburg: A team of law enforcement officers recovered four high-performance vehicles that were reported stolen and hijacked, during an intelligence-driven operation conducted in Midrand on Friday, 01 August 2025. The team also recovered a large amount of equipment and tools used for the theft of motor vehicles, including a signal jamming device. One suspect was arrested and a search is underway for more suspects who might be part of this syndicate.

According to South African Police Service, members from crime intelligence received information about a syndicate that is involved in the theft of high-performance vehicles around Gauteng and neighbouring provinces. A team consisting of SAPS Counter Intelligence Head Office, SAPS Gauteng Highway Patrol Flexi2, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, Cap Specialised Operations, and Tracker Connect was activated and went on pursuing the suspects in Midrand.
