WESTERN CAPE – Three males aged between the ages of 37 and 42 will appear in the Somerset West Magistrate court today on charges relating to possession of hijacked vehicles and stolen property.
On 02 June 2021 members attached to Bellville Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit were contacted by Macassar police to assist at a chop shop where they already arrested a 37-year-old man on a truck hijacking case. The members took over the investigation, which led them to arrest two more suspects age 40 and 42 on Thursday, 03 June 2021, at a chop shop in Buttercup Street, Macassar. Members found six vehicles worth more than R1 080 000-00, reported stolen or hijacked, stored on the premises.
