Waterberg SAPS and Chrome Mine Managers Unite to Support Community on Mandela Day

Mokopane: The Waterberg District Commissioner celebrated Mandela Day on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Extension 14 in Mokopane. The event saw collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, and local businesses to support local families and schools.

According to South African Police Service, the Waterberg District Commissioner, Major General Masingi, was accompanied by the Station Commander of Mokopane SAPS, Colonel Lucas Mabote, and his station management, along with the Community Policing Forum, Young YCOP, Neighborhood Watch, Victim Support Center, and Chrome Mine Manager, Mr. Malema. Together, they engaged in cleaning a house and donated groceries to a family in need. The Mokobane family expressed their gratitude to the District Commissioner and her team for their support and concern.

Major General Masingi emphasized the importance of showing commitment to serving and protecting the citizens. In continuation of the Mandela Day celebrations, the District Commissioner, along with her management team, visited Blinkwater Primary School in the Mokopane policing area. The Chrome mine management contributed by donating paint, and collectively, the school premises were revitalized.

The school principal, Mrs. Teffo, thanked everyone involved for their contributions, noting that the refreshed school environment would uplift the students' spirits.
