Woman allegedly raped at Ekamba village


The police in the Oshikoto Region have opened a rape case after a 30 – year – old woman was allegedly raped at Ekamba village in the Oniipa Constituency . According to the Namibian Police Force ‘ s crime investigations coordinator for the region , Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo , the incident occurred around 21h00 on Thursday but was only reported on Sunday . ‘ It is alleged that the suspect and the woman were socialising together at a local cucashop , where the suspect started touching the victim and promising to buy her an alcoholic drink ,’ said Ekandjo . Later on , the suspect reportedly attacked the woman while she was relieving herself , kicking her several times before pulling off her underwear and forcefully having sexual intercourse with her . ‘ The woman rushed home and informed her boyfriend that she was assaulted and was then taken to the hospital ,’ Ekandjo added . The woman however did not inform the doctor or her boyfriend that she was raped and only reported the matter to the police on Sun
day . The suspect , a Namibian male , is known to the police but has not yet been arrested . Investigations continue .
