Belfast: A 34-year-old suspect, Joseph Maseko, appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate's Court on Friday, 22 August 2025, facing a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect was granted bail of R700, and the case was postponed to 22 October 2025 for further police investigations.
According to South African Police Service, Maseko was arrested on Thursday, 21 August 2025, after the Sekhukhune Tracking Task Team recovered an illegal firearm and ammunition during a search at his residence in Ga-Mashamothane in Tubatse policing area.
