Oshoek: The Border Management and Immigration Anti-Corruption Forum (BMIACF) is set to hold its quarterly anti-corruption campaign at Oshoek Port of Entry on 10 June 2026. The campaign aims to proactively tackle corruption at South Africa's ports of entry.
According to South African Government News Agency, the campaign is chaired by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU). The event will be led by key figures such as Border Management Authority (BMA) Commissioner Dr. Michael Masiapato, Acting SIU Head Leonard Lekgetho, Home Affairs Director-General Tommy Makhode, and Executive Mayor of the Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality Mbuso Magubane, along with representatives from other government institutions.
The leaders are expected to demonstrate their commitment to combating corruption by publicly signing a pledge against it, urging border officials to follow their example. Incarcerated offenders who have been sentenced for fraud and corruption-related activities will speak about the consequences of such acts.
Furthermore, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, known as the Hawks, will discuss their strategies on fighting organized crime and corruption at ports of entry, and provide insights on conviction statistics.
