Pretoria:Cabinet has extended its best wishes to the Class of 2026 as they prepare for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, which are set to begin on 13 October 2026 and conclude on 25 November 2026.
According to South African Government News Agency, during a recent media briefing, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni emphasized the importance of structured revision and additional academic support in the final preparation phase. Schools are focused on ensuring that learners are well-prepared for their examinations.
Ntshavheni also highlighted the role of parents and guardians in monitoring learners' progress and creating an environment conducive to studying. Learners are encouraged to develop realistic study schedules and seek guidance from teachers or peers if needed. Additionally, Ntshavheni urged eligible students to apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) assistance. The application cycle for 2027 is open and will close on 18 November 2026, with funding outcomes expected in December. This funding aims to help students pursue higher education and training opportunities.
