Marble hall: The Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Nonceba Mhlauli, is set to attend the 10th Ephraim Mogale Career Expo on Friday at the Laerskool Sports Ground in Marble Hall, Limpopo. The event aims to connect learners with a range of career opportunities and resources by bringing together government departments, higher education institutions, SETAs, and industry stakeholders. The expo will focus on providing young people with information on career paths, skills development programmes, bursaries, entrepreneurship, and employment pathways.
According to South African Government News Agency, the Deputy Minister will interact with exhibitors and engage with learners as part of the programme. She will also deliver remarks on government initiatives designed to improve youth employment outcomes. These initiatives include SAYouth.mobi, a platform implemented in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), and the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI).
The PYEI is a key initiative aimed at creating meaningful employment and economic opportunities for young people in South Africa. It plans to integrate two million youth into the economy over the next decade. Coordinated by a Project Management Office in the Presidency, the PYEI combines expertise from leading experts, government departments, the private sector, social partners, and young people themselves to achieve its objectives.
