Finance Minister Congratulates Three Newly Appointed Deputy Directors-General


Pretoria: The Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, has extended his congratulations to three newly appointed Deputy Directors-General (DDGs) at National Treasury. The appointments, which were officially announced by Cabinet on Thursday, include Ulrike Britton, Ogalaletseng Gaarekwe, and Christopher Axelson.



According to South African Government News Agency, Britton has been appointed as Deputy Director-General for Public Finance, Gaarekwe as Deputy Director-General for Intergovernmental Relations, and Axelson as Deputy Director-General for Tax and Financial Sector Policy. These strategic appointments represent a significant milestone in the department’s commitment to maintaining institutional stability while fostering innovation and fresh perspectives.



“It is essential that the department demonstrates strong leadership and stability while continuing to develop a pipeline of talented and dedicated public service professionals committed to serving our nation. These appointments reflect our ongoing investment in building capacity and ensuring continuity in our critical work,” the Minister said.
