Gauteng Provincial Legislature conducts oversight visits Sedibeng Region, 09 Jun

Standing Committee to conduct external meeting, post legislative scrutiny and oversight visits based on the tabled Gauteng Department of Health Regulation.

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) Standing Committee on Scrutiny of Subordinate Legislation (CSSL) has scheduled an external meeting, which will be followed by Post Legislative Scrutiny and Oversight visits relating to the Ambulance Services at the Sedibeng Region. This will take place on Thursday 9 June 2022 from 10h00-15h30.

The meeting will allow for the Report on the Post Legislative Scrutiny on the Implementation of the Gauteng Regulations on Uniform Patient Fee Schedule Relating to the Classification of Fees Payable by Patients at Provincial Hospital Regulations of 2021. Including another report on the Post Legislative Scrutiny on the Impact of Covid 19 on the Implementation of the Gauteng Provincial Road Traffic Amendment Regulations, to be presented to the committee.

Post Legislative Scrutiny is one of the Committee’s main roles, which is the process of ensuring that the regulations “laws” are carried out timeously and as intended.

During this visit, the tabled Gauteng Department of Health Regulations on Revision of the Uniform Patient Fee Schedule Relating to Ambulances of 2022, will be the main focus. A Director from the Provincial office and 5 regional managers will do presentations to the committee outlining the impact of this regulation. The committee will continue its work with two oversight visits to Ambulance Bases in the Sedibeng Region.
