Cape town: Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has noted with concern media reports speculating about an imminent arrest of the National Commissioner of Police. ‘As the Ministry of Police, we have not been made aware of such impending arrest. We have also noted the response from the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) on this speculation,’ the Police Ministry said in a statement.
According to South African Government News Agency, the ministry further emphasized their stance on the issue, urging the media to refrain from engaging in speculation. The statement highlighted that such speculation could have negative consequences for the individual involved and potentially disrupt the operations of the South African Police Service.
