Seville: South Africa is set to participate in the 4th International Conference on the Financing for Development Summit in Seville from June 30 to July 3, 2025. Leading the delegation is Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Hon. Ronald Lamola, following an invitation from Spanish President Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
According to African Press Organization, the conference aims to address issues in financing for development, with a focus on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reforming the international financial architecture. President Ramaphosa has appointed Minister Lamola as the Head of Delegation due to recent political developments in South Africa that require ongoing attention.
The summit will gather prominent figures from various debt-related initiatives to explore synergies and consensus on widely supported solutions. South Africa’s delegation includes Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Hon. Maropene Ramokgopa, Deputy Minister of Finance David Masondo, and senior government officials.
