These drafts are available for review on the National Treasury's website, providing an opportunity for individuals and organizations to participate in shaping the future of procurement policies.
According to South African Government News Agency, the draft regulations and associated notices were published in accordance with section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2024 (Act No. 28 of 2024). These were detailed in Government Gazette Numbers 54528 and 54527, respectively. The regulations are instrumental in implementing the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2024, which was signed into law by the President on July 18, 2024, and subsequently published on July 23, 2024.
The National Treasury emphasized the necessity of these regulations to operationalize the Public Procurement Act, highlighting their potential impact and explaining their intended functions. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments on the draft Public Procurement Tribunal Regulations, 2026, by May 15, 2026.
