Scholars and community members of Kroonstad welcomed with relief the sight of police officials who were conducting awareness and outreach campaign through Operation Phethisa Molao.
The operation was led by Kroonstad Station Commander Colonel Morne de Wet, Fezile Dabi District Social Crime Prevention, Corporate Communication, Kroonstad SAPS, K9 Unit and members of Community Police Forum (CPF).
Two schools namely, Brentvale Primary and Dikaos Christian School were visited. Crime tips regarding bullying, substance abuse, child trafficking and children’s rights were shared.
Question and answer platform was afforded to the learners from both schools and awarded with promotional items.
The team further made sure more boots were felt on the ground as they proceeded to the CBD. Due to high influx of consumers because of month end, pamphlets were issued on the streets and retail stores.
Safety tips were also shared for ATM users to be alert during this time of the month.
