Provincial Commissioner host two days’ workshop to curb xenophobic attacks and hate crimes

POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe had on Thursday, 25 August 2022 officially opened the Prevention of Xenophobic violent attack and hate Crimes related workshop at Protea Landmark Hotel in Polokwane South.

The Provincial Coordinator for Partnership policing Lieutenant Colonel Maake, Constable Mafalo, and also two SAPS CPF coordinators from each District were present during the launch.

The Provincial chairperson of Community Policing Forum (CPF), Mr Frans Kgasago rendered the welcoming of the guest item.

The Program director Mr Masuko from African Police Civilians Oversight Forum presented to the attendees about the advantage and disadvantages of illegal foreigners in a foreign land.

The Commissioner addressed the audience on the following issues:

* That all station Commanders must have a good partnership with Community Policing Forum (CPF) to assist in the prevention of crime.

* Police should encourage Community members to form Crime Prevention structures, like street patrols and neighbourhood watch,

* Be available to community when needed.

* Men and women in blue must not participate in Gender Based Violence and Femicides.

The workshop is continuing.
