Tshwane: On Saturday, 26 July 2025, members of the Tshwane Flying Squad, acting on information received from Crime Intelligence, conducted an operation targeting a suspected counterfeit money manufacturing site in Olivenhoutbosch, Chuba Informal Settlement.
According to South African Police Service, upon arrival at the identified location, the suspect - an African male - fled the scene on foot. A search of the premises led to the discovery of an undisclosed quantity of counterfeit money concealed in plastic bags inside the shack. The counterfeit money was seized and booked as an exhibit at Olivenhoutbosch SAPS. No arrests were made in connection with this operation.
The South African Police Service appeals to anyone with information that may assist in locating the suspect to contact Olivenhoutbosch SAPS or call the SAPS Crime Stop line at 08600 10111.
In a separate incident on the same day, Tshwane Flying Squad members arrested a 50-year-old female suspect who was driving a silver-grey Fiat Panda. The arrest occurred at the intersection of Cresswell Road and Moreleta Street, where the suspect was observed driving recklessly and negligently. She was taken into custody and detained at Silverton SAPS for further processing.
These actions form part of the continued efforts by the Tshwane Flying Squad to combat crime and promote safety across Gauteng.
